Privacy Policy

1. What we collect and why

• Account information: name, email, and login credentials for account owners and any additional logins an account owner grants access to. Used to authenticate you and control access to your own location(s) only.
• Location/camera configuration:location name, location type (home/business), camera names and connection details, and the zones you draw on your camera views. Used to run the Service as you've configured it.
• Event metadata:timestamps, zone names, object types detected (e.g. "person"), and AI-generated descriptions of flagged activity. Stored so you can search and review your own location's history.
• Triggered snapshot/clip images:short video clips or still images generated only when the on-site system detects activity worth checking against a zone's configuration. These are sent to our AI processing provider (Anthropic) to generate the detection result, and stored briefly so you can review the flagged event from your dashboard.
• Facial biometric data (opt-in only): if you choose to enroll a person (e.g. a family member or staff member) for face recognition, a mathematical representation of their face (a numeric "encoding," not a photo) is generated and stored, scoped to your own location only. This is used solely to inform cash-handling review with an extra signal ("is this a recognized person"), alongside the existing behavior-based check -- it is never used to identify anyone outside your own enrolled list, and never shared with or matched against any external database. You must have the enrolled person's consent before enrolling them -- biometric data laws in several jurisdictions (e.g. Illinois BIPA) legally require this, and we require an explicit confirmation from you at enrollment time as well.

2. What we do NOT collect

Continuous, raw video from your cameras is processed locally on hardware at your own location and is never uploaded to us in full or stored on our servers. Face recognition (described above) runs entirely on that same on-site hardware -- enrolled photos and face encodings never leave your own premises or get sent to a cloud face-recognition API. We do not use facial recognition at any location unless the account owner explicitly enrolls someone; it is off by default.

3. Third parties we share data with

• Anthropic(Claude AI) -- processes triggered snapshot images and event data to generate detection results and answer your search questions. Subject to Anthropic's own data-handling terms for API usage.
• Neon (database hosting) and Vercel (application hosting) -- store and serve your account/event data and the dashboard application itself.

We do not sell your data or your video/event data to any third party for advertising or any other purpose.

4. Data retention

Recorded video clips are retained on-site for 14 days by default before being automatically deleted, matching your camera system's own recording retention setting. Event metadata, digests, and notification history are retained for as long as your account is active, so you can search your own history; you can request deletion at any time by contacting your account administrator. Upon account termination, data is deleted or anonymized per the timeline in our Terms of Service, except where retention is legally required. Enrolled face encodings are kept until you remove that person from your location's enrolled list, which takes effect immediately.

5. Your choices

You control what gets monitored: you choose which cameras connect, which zones are drawn, what each zone watches for, and can turn off any optional feature (e.g. high-value item monitoring) at any time. Turning a feature off stops it from running immediately, not just for new zones going forward. You can remove any enrolled person's face data at any time from Zone Setup, which deletes their stored encoding immediately.

6. Security

Passwords are never stored in plain text. Access to each location's data is restricted to the logins explicitly granted access to it. Camera credentials you provide are stored to allow the on-site system to connect to your camera and are not displayed back to you or any other user after entry.

7. Changes to this policy

We will update the date at the top of this page when this policy changes and make reasonable efforts to notify account owners of material changes.
